IS IT REALLY POSSIBLE TO BE IN LOVE WITH TWO PEOPLE AT ONCE?!!

Plus, what to do if you think are. (Photo: Shutterstock)
The Great Gatsby’s Tom Buchanan, Jay Gatsby, and Daisy. Carrie Bradshaw, Big, and Aidan (still not sure who to root for in that one). Tons of books and movies feature love triangles for a reason (besides just the drama): Lots of people can relate to having feelings for two different people at the same time. But is it actually possible to love two people at once—or are the tortured souls who think they do just kidding themselves?
The answer is a resounding yup, says Ramani Durvasula, Ph.D., clinical psychologist and a professor of psychology at UCLA. “We assume love comes in one flavor, but it’s really much more Baskin Robbins than that.” In other words, chocolate chip mint and strawberry are different, but they’re both damn good. If only love were as easy as ice cream.
“We are complex and complicated beings, and it’s very possible that two different traits in two different people can both appeal to us,” says Durvasula. As you grow and develop as an individual, you might find yourself drawn to people who complement different aspects of who you are.
“Attraction is a very biological experience,” says Durvasula. You may be in an established relationship and meet someone at work who WHAM! makes your hormones crazy. Or you might be casually dating and find that two different people you’ve been seeing for a while both appeal to you.
That overwhelming, whirlwind feeling people tend to describe as being “in love” is biologically synonymous with a surge in dopamine levels, says Durvasula. (Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that’s connected to your brain’s reward and pleasure centers—so a spike can cause you to feel like you’re experiencing a natural high.) Even days later, just thinking about a great kiss can cause dopamine to release in your brain, and before you know it, you’re falling big time. So while being monogamous or in a committed relationship is a conscious, logical choice, that loopy rush of hormones (and who makes you feel the ensuing effects of them) is entirely physical—and out of your control.
There’s also a particular circumstance under which you’re more likely to fall for multiple people: when you’re most in love with yourself.
“When you’re going through a positive transition—anything from an exciting new job to a physical transformation—and are feeling happy with yourself, you’re more open to new experiences and new people,” says Durvasula. The more you embrace who you are, the more likely you are to explore and celebrate other people for who they are. So the more you fall in love with yourself, the more you fall in love with others, she says.
Feeling torn between two people can be confusing and emotionally exhausting—but it can also be fun.
Continuing to explore both love interests might be a valid option if all of the people involved are on the same page, says Durvasula. “Polyamorous and open relationships are gaining a lot of traction, but you need to be transparent about it.” Interested in exploring something like this? These rules for open relationships can guide you through the conversations and boundaries involved.
Granted, not everyone is up for an untraditional relationship setup, says Durvasula. If you want to commit to one person—or one of the people you love wants you to—that’s perectly fine, too. But how do you do it?
“As awful as it sounds, make a pros and cons list,” suggests Durvasula. And be brutally honest with yourself when writing it. Something helpful to keep in mind when you’re reviewing your list: “We get caught up in the passion and rush of feeling in love, but companionate love wins in the end.“ Think of it this way: Who is going to be 100 percent fine with throwing out your snotty tissues for you when you’re sick? Who would you still enjoy when you’re 90 years old and the flame of lust and passion has died down?
If you need to, take a break from both relationships. “Take a trip,” says Durvasula. “Do whatever you need to do to step back and remove yourself from the situation.” Getting a little space can help provide you with some perspective.
Unfortunately, you can’t. There’s no mathematical formula for choosing who to make a commitment to. And the reality is that both individuals might be great, and both individuals might make solid partners, says Durvasula. But even if you’re split right down the middle, you’ll often have that gut feeling that’ll give one person even just a slight advantage. Follow that intuition, says Durvasula. Is a little buyer’s remorse or “what-if” wondering normal? Totally. But when you do come to a decision, try to stick to it. When you choose a partner to pursue, cut your focus from the other and really give this new relationship its best shot at success. Celebrate the aspects of this individual that led you to choose them over someone else.
“The best thing you can do in this situation is to take the time to cultivate and love yourself,” says Durvasula. It’ll help you to be more aware of the characteristics in a partner that matter most to you and ultimately will make your decision a little easier.

2015 EMMY BEST DRESSED: TARAJI P. HENSON AND KERRY WASHINTON EARNS TOP MARKS!!

If the 2015 Emmys proved anything, it’s that celebrities have magical abilities to sill look amazing on the red carpet no matter what Mother Nature throws at them. Held at the Microsoft Theater on Sunday in Los Angeles, California, stars posed on the step-and-repeat looking put together — and gorgeous — despite the 100 degree heat. Many got top marks for their style — hello Taraji P. Henson in Alexander Wang, Aubrey Plaza in Alexandre Vaulthier, and Ariel Winter in Romona Keveza — while some barely made the grade (sorry, Heidi Klum). Yet one thing’s for sure: everyone passed.

They also said that Roper was traveling at 65 MPH prior to the accident, and could have prevented the crash if he had been driving 45 MPH, the speed limit where the crash occurred. According to those pesky ‘source’ types over at RadarOnline, Cait is having a right old nightmare following her various gender transition procedures.
She’s apparently in ‘agony’ and ‘constantly’ dosing up on painkillers.
“Caitlyn’s in constant pain since she had all those operations. She’s happy with how her transformation’s going, but she’s finding the surgery hell on her body,” the ‘source’ told the site, adding:
“She’s currently taking painkillers until the work on her face and body settles in.”

However, the 65-year-old is believed to be pleased with how things and going and totally certain that the pain is worth it.
“She’s happy with how her transformation’s going, but she’s finding the surgery hell on her body,” the source added.
HOWEVER, Gossip Cop reckons that they have heard direct from Caitlyn’s reps who have flat out denied the story.
Instead, they say that the “only pain Jenner has is RadarOnline.”
Ouch!

Caitlyn Jenner is believed to have spent millions of dollars on the best gender reassignment surgery that money can buy – including a face lift, brow lift and changes to the hairline, forehead, jaw and chin.
The reality star is yet to confirm whether or not she’ll actually go through with the full genital transition.
However, the World Professional Association for Transgender Health’s ‘Standards Of Care’ advises that genital surgery not be done until at least a year after transition.
We guess we will have to wait and see. Well, hopefully not literally.

CRITICS ARE SHREDDING BEN CARSON FOR HIS ASININE COMMENT ABOUT MUSLIMS!!

Screen Shot 2015 09 21 at 9.28.25 AM(NBC/screengrab) Ben Carson on "Meet the Press."
Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson is catching flak for arguing that a person who worships Islam should not occupy the Oval Office.
Carson, a leading Republican presidential candidate who often refers to his Christian faith, made the comments Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press."
Carson said Islam was inconsistent with the Constitution and that he would not "advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation."
That comment infuriated at least two of Carson's rivals in the 2016 race. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) criticized Carson at length in a subsequent Fox News interview.
"This shows that Dr. Carson is not ready to be commander-in-chief," Graham said. "Mr. Carson may be a good doctor, but he is not ready to lead a great nation."
Graham also argued that Carson should apologize to Muslims serving in the US armed forces.
"What would he say to the approximately 3,500 American Muslims who have been to Iraq and Afghanistan fighting for our freedom, risking their lives?" Graham said. "What he should say is: 'Thank you for serving our great nation. We're all in this together.'"
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont), a Democratic presidential candidate, released a statement Sunday night comparing Carson's comments to other forms of discrimination.
"I am very disappointed that Dr. Carson would suggest that a Muslim should not become president of the United States," Sanders said. "It took us too long to overcome the prejudice against electing a Catholic or an African-American president. People should be elected to office based on their ideas, not their religion or the color of their skin."
The two Muslim members of Congress — Reps. André Carson (D-Indiana) and Keith Ellison (D-Minnesota) — further criticized Ben Carson for his comments.
"It's unimaginable that the leading GOP presidential candidates are resorting to fearmongering to benefit their campaigns, and every American should be disturbed that these national figures are engaging in and tolerating blatant acts of religious bigotry," Ellison said in a statement.
"Saying the United States should not elect a Muslim president is as absurd as saying we should not elect a neurosurgeon as president," André Carson said in an NPR interview on Monday. "Freedom of religion is a founding principle of our nation. And for any candidate to suggest that someone of any faith is unfit for public office, to me is simply asinine."

For his part, Ben Carson did not back off his statement after the "Meet the Press" interview. He told The Hill that that Sharia law, or the Islamic legal system based on the Quran, was simply incompatible with the Constitution.
"I do not believe Sharia is consistent with the Constitution of this country," Carson said. "Muslims feel that their religion is very much a part of your public life and what you do as a public official, and that's inconsistent with our principles and our Constitution."
Carson, however, told The Hill that he would be comfortable with a Muslim presidential candidate who "publicly rejected all the tenets of Sharia and lived a life consistent with that."
"Then I wouldn't have any problem," he said.
Armstrong Williams, Carson's business manager who often speaks on the candidate's behalf, also told CNN on Monday that Carson was simply stating his personal beliefs without trying to be politically correct.
"Even if it makes CNN and others uncomfortable," Williams said, "it is what he believes."

This Hollywood love triangle is getting more complicated!

"She reminded Tyga of the happier times they had together when King was a baby, and she wants to experience that love and connection with him all over agai," the source tells Hollywood Life. "She told him to seriously think about this, and in the meantime, she’s going to do her best to stop blasting Kylie all over social media."
The two ladies famously feuded on social media earlier this year, and it seems like no love was lost between the two.
And the latest news could throw whole new twist into the ongoing drama.

MOSCOW (AP) — Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and sought to assuage Israel's fears of potential Iranian and Syrian aggression.
The West has been concerned about Russia's military buildup in Syria, suspecting that the intention is to support the government of President Bashar Assad. Russia has insisted that its aim is to help Syria, a longtime ally, fight the Islamic State group.
Netanyahu told Putin at the start of the meeting at his residence outside Moscow that Iran and Syria have been supplying Hezbollah with advanced weapons and are "trying to set up a second terrorist front on the Golan Heights," which Israel captured from Syria and effectively annexed in 1981.
Putin responded by saying the fears of Syrian aggression against Israel were unfounded.
"We know that the Syrian army and Syria as a whole are in such a state that they have no time for a second front. They need to save their own state," Putin told Netanyahu in televised comments. "But still, I understand your concerns."
Netanyahu told Putin that Israel's policy was to prevent these weapons transfers and thus he felt it was important to inform Russia of this, "to make sure that there was no misunderstanding between our forces."
Monday's meeting was the first between the two leaders since November 2013, although they have spoken by telephone three times this year, the Kremlin said.
The U.S. also has warned that Russia's movement of tactical aircraft and surface-to-air missiles to Syria could pose a threat to American and allied forces fighting IS.
Satellite imagery also has shown the recent arrival of Russian tanks, armored personnel carriers and other military equipment at an air base near the Syrian coastal city of Latakia.

OlympicsNigeria’s Aruna Quadri and Olufunke Oshonaike have qualified for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games after making it to the semifinal stage of the singles event of the 2015 African Games in Congo Brazzaville.
For Oshonaike, it’s a dream come true as she has equaled Segun Toriola’s record of six appearance at the games after making her debut at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games in United States.
To book her place, Oshonaike defeated Egypt’s Yousra Helmy 4-2 to set up a semifinal clash against another Egyptian Nadeen El-Dawlatly on Saturday September 19.
With this qualification, Quadri who defeated Egypt’s Ahmed Saleh 4-1 in the quarterfinal will be making his second appearance at the games after his excellent debut in 2012 when he made it to the second round.
For the semi-final tie, Quadri will battle against Egypt’s Khalid Assar who edged out Nigeria’s Ojo Onaolapo in the quarter-finals.
Other players who have sealed qualification are Egypt’s Assar brothers, Omar and Khalid as well as Chinese-born Wang Jianan who defeated Segun Toriola 4-1 in the quarter-finals.
The other three players that secured Olympics slots alongside Oshonaike are Egypt’s Dina Meshref and Nadeen El-Dawlatly as well as Chinese-born Congo Brazzaville’s Han Xing.

NNPC SECURES $1.2 BILLION FUNDING FOR 36 OIL WELLS!!

NNPCAs part of a strategic move to grow Nigeria’s oil and gas reserves and generate more income, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC has secured a $1.2 billion multi-year drilling financing package for 36 Offshore/Onshore Oil wells under the NNPC/Chevron Nigeria Limited Joint Venture.
At the ceremony held in London to consummate the deal, the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Dr Ibe Kachukwu described the new alternative funding model in the upstream financing which would serve as a template for future initiative to supplement the Federal Government’s Joint Venture Cash Call commitment.
A break down of the funds which is being financed by a consortium of Nigerian and International lenders indicates that the $1.2bn is to be channeled into the development of 23 onshore and 13 offshore wells on OML 49, 90 and 95 in two stages over 2015-2018.
Stage one, comprising 19 wells, is projected to deliver 21,000 barrels of crude oil and condensate per day alongside 120 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (mmscf/d) over 2015 and 2016.
Stage two, comprising 17 wells is projected to yield 20, 000 barrels of crude oil and condensate per day alongside gas production of 7 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d) between 2016 and 2018.
It is also envisaged that both stages of the project would generate $2 to $5 billion of incremental revenue to the Federation account.
Beyond the contribution to the National Treasury, the projected peak incremental gas production of 127 mmscf/d, which is the electricity equivalent of 400 megawatts would help boost the Federal Government’s domestic gas aspirations with expectant positive effect on power supply.
