GRAMMY 2016: WORSE DRESSED CELEBS!!

 

 

The 2016 Grammy Awards ceremony was held on Feb. 15 at the Staples Center in LA, California. Many stunned on the red carpet but some didn’t quite make the mark. These are the worst dressed this year.

The Grammys 2016 was an eventful evening, full of surprises including Beyonce’s surprise award presentation but nothing prepared us for what some celebrities showed up in on the red carpet.

After a demure appearance at the 2016 Golden Globes, it seems Lady Gaga may be back to her renowned controversial looks, as she donned a Ziggy Stardust inspired outfit, which featured an embroidered blue dress, with bright orange hair and super high red platform heels.

ACTRESS CAUSES CONTROVERSY IN REVEALING OUTFIT AT LATIN GRAMMY!!

Move over JLO, Jada Pinkett-Smith is here with a new controversial Grammy dress! At the Latin Grammys, which took place in Las Vegas on Thursday, the Gotham star was able to attract a major amount of attention in glittery silver dress, with a very see through top. She finished the look with silver drop earrings, a silver clutch and Zanotti heels.

GRAMMY 2016: RIHANNA'S PERFORMANCE CANCELLED DUE TO SOUR THROAT!!

 

In another last-minute Grammy no-show, hip-hop artist Lauryn Hill inexplicably failed to appear for a planned, but unannounced, duet with R&B star The Weeknd despite a dress rehearsal with him earlier in the day.

A throat infection forced the 11th-hour cancellation of a Grammy show performance by recording star Rihanna, whose doctors ordered her to rest her voice for 48 hours or risk the hemorrhaging of her vocal cords, organizers said on Monday.

In another last-minute Grammy no-show, hip-hop artist Lauryn Hill inexplicably failed to appear for a planned, but unannounced, duet with R&B star The Weeknd despite a dress rehearsal with him earlier in the day, said Neil Portnow, president of the Recording Academy.

Rihanna, 27, an eight-time Grammy winner, had been slated to perform her song "Kiss It Better," from her new album, "Anti," which was released in January after the cutoff period for this year's Grammy eligibility.

But, after a medical examination following Monday's rehearsal, doctors decided she should drop out of the show because she was "at risk of hemorrhaging her vocal chords," her publicist said in the statement read by Grammy organizers to reporters backstage.

"The antibiotics she had been on for three days did not kill the infection adequately. Therefore she cannot perform safely," the statement said.

A representative for Hill, 40, said the former Fugees member "was never confirmed and should not have been advertised as such." Hill was a 1999 Grammy winner for her debut solo album, "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

"The Grammy's announced a performance by Ms. Lauryn Hill prematurely and without approval," her representative said in a statement reported by Billboard magazine.

"Ms. Hill had concerts all weekend, leaving no time to prepare, and was uncertain she would even be able to make it to LA in time to rehearse for the event."

However, Portnow insisted that Hill had rehearsed earlier in the day with The Weeknd - real name Abel Tesfaye - who had invited the singer to be a surprise guest when he performed "In the Night," one of two songs he ended up performing solo.

Portnow called her no-show "unfortunate," adding it was the intention of the show's producers to welcome her on stage up until the very last moment before she was due to appear.

"I'm African-American, I'm African, I'm black as the moon, heritage of a small village, pardon my residence, came from the bottom of mankind," rapped Lamar, 28, who hails from Compton, California, the birthplace of hip-hop.

Hip-hop ruled the Grammys stage on Monday in performances that put racial tension back in the national spotlight and where some of music's biggest stars failed to deliver, or in the case of Rihanna, failed to show up at all.

Kendrick Lamar's "To Pimp a Butterfly" lost out on the coveted album of the year. But it was his passionate, politically charged performance of "The Blacker the Berry" and "Alright," featuring chained black men in a prison, and African tribal dancers, that quickly stole the show.

"I'm African-American, I'm African, I'm black as the moon, heritage of a small village, pardon my residence, came from the bottom of mankind," rapped Lamar, 28, who hails from Compton, California, the birthplace of hip-hop.

Lamar's performance ended with a backdrop of a large map of Africa with the name Compton written across it.

National Public Radio's Eric Deggans called it "A performance that woke up a sleepy #Grammys" and entertainment website E! Online tweeted that "Kendrick Lamar just SHUT. IT. DOWN. at the Grammys."

Lamar wasn't the only rapper making waves.

Broadway's sold-out musical "Hamilton" which mixes rap, jazz, ballads and casts black and Latino actors as the U.S. founding fathers, performed live from New York. The show won the best musical theater album award and its creator, Lin Manuel-Miranda, delivered his acceptance speech in rap.

"Kendrick then Lin Manuel serving nonstop back to back black and brown genius", tweeted Daniel Jose Older.

Going into the Grammys, all eyes had been on Adele, who was returning to music's biggest night after a four-year absence and following the blockbuster success of her new album "25."

But the British singer's delivery of ballad "All I Ask," was marred by sound issues and uncharacteristic flat notes that dismayed many fans.

"The piano mics fell on to the piano strings, that's what the guitar sound was. It made it sound out of tune. Shit happens. X" Adele tweeted in response.

Instead, it was Lady Gaga who brought the audience at the Staples Center in Los Angeles to its feet with a psychedelic tribute to David Bowie, who died in January.

Rihanna pulled out at the last minute with bronchitis, disappointing fans watching at home who complained the 2016 Grammys lacked star power.

"But can we really blame Rihanna? If I was at the Grammys I would've left too," Twitter user Sophia commented.

Beyonce later made the briefest of appearances to present an award at the end of the 3-1/2-hour show, but did not perform.

GRAMMY 2016: THE WEEKND GRABS TWO AWARDS!!

 

The Weeknd has won two awards at the 58th edition of the Grammy Awards.

The Canadian R&B singer won best urban contemporary album for “Beauty Behind the Madness” and best R&B performance for ‘Earned it' (“Fifty Shades Of Grey” soundtrack).

In the best urban contemporary album category, he was nominated alongside The Internet, Kehlani, Miguel and Lianne La Havas.

He beat Andra Day, Hiatus Kaiyote, Jeremiah and Tamar Braxton in the best R&B performance category.

The Weeknd lost out to Taylor Swift in the album of the year category. He was also nominated for record of the year and best pop solo performance for ‘Can’t feel my face’ and best R&B song.

The singer whose real name is Abel Tesfaye released his award-winning album in on August 28, 2015. As per the crooner’s customary fashion, “Beauty Behind The Madness” embodies the elements and themes of drugs, sex, relationships, pain and pursuit of fame continue. His singles ‘Can’t feel my face’ and ‘Earned it’ heralded his entry into mainstream music.

Ex-NBA star Lamar Odom, 36, has gotten his mother-in-law Kris Jenner to decorate his new rome.

According to TMZ, Kris Jenner was at a huge furniture warehouse on Valentine's Day looking for items to furnish Lamar Odom's new home that Khloe Kardashian leased for him. The home is located in Calabasas in California.

During her trip to the big furniture warehouse Kris Jenner went with Faye Resnick, who is Nicole Brown Simpson's best friend.

Kris Jenner had a budget of $65,000 to help furniture Lamar Odom's new home. TMZ reports that Khloe will pay for the furniture in Lamar's home.

The momager of the Kardashian/Jenner clan spent four-and-a-half hours at the furniture warehouse before leaving.

Last October Lamar Odom was taken to the hospital after he was found unconscious at a brothel. He was in a coma and on life support before regaining cosnciousness.
