The
Acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission
(INEC), on Wednesday, spoke out on the effects of the prolonged election
tribunals maintaining that it is constituting a big challenge to the
progress of the commission.
Mrs
Amina Zakari noted that some states are still grappling with issues in
courts six months after elections, preventing them from properly
settling down to governance.
The situation, according to the INEC boss, also takes a toll on staff and management of the electoral commission.
Mrs Zakari announced a 13-member committee set up to understudy the issues surrounding the tribunals which would perhaps, proffer solutions within two months.
