Gwen Stefani isn’t staying mum about her divorce from husband Gavin Rossdale. The “Used to Love You” songstress got candid while talking about her split during an interview with 94.7 Fresh FM’s The Tommy Show in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, Nov. 18.
“There are so many bad things, oh my God. Like, I can't even
believe it,” Stefani, 46, said when asked about her current “situation.”
“But, at the same time, there are lots of good things, and I do get to
have a second chance, and I have a lot of joy right now."
As exclusively revealed by Us Weekly
earlier this month, Stefani called it quits on her 13-year marriage to
Rossdale after she discovered he was having an affair with their nanny Mindy Mann.
“I wish it didn't happen,” she continued. “I wish that all
this wasn't happening, but … it was part of my life journey. In my life
I've had two really bad heartbreaks, but I've written some really
incredible music out of it."
In fact, when Stefani listens to her old music, she said she notices red flags.
“Because of my situation right now … I feel like I go back and listen to a lot of that stuff and I get sick,” the mom to sons Kingston, 9, Zuma, 7, and Apollo,
20 months, admitted. “You look at the song and go, ‘That was a red flag
and that was a moment where I was feeling just as bad as I do today and
why did I keep it up?’”
The Voice mentor isn’t dwelling on the past, though. Now happily dating Blake Shelton, she concluded: “There’s always good things that come out of bad things.”
